I’m Ann Green, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 35 years of experience helping people navigate the complexities of their lives. My deep commitment and belief in our collective capcitdy to change and grow has driven me to dedicate my career to transforming lives through therapeutic work. As a co-creator of Social Therapy, I take a holistic approach that addresses individual struggles in the context of the larger social and historical factors that shape our experiences.
In my group therapy work, I create a supportive environment where people can build resilience, strengthen connections, and explore new possibilities. I help clients face their conflicts and engage in honest conversations.
I welcome people of all ages who are seeking support with a range of challenges—whether it’s depression, anxiety, workplace stress, academic pressures, family conflicts, or trauma. My practice is a warm and nurturing space where healing and growth can be nourished.

I was born in New York and lived there for all of my youth and early adulthood. I then spent a dozen years in Chicago and wore many different professional/artistic hats during those years: improviser, youth development specialist, adult and family literacy educator, academic professional, and graduate student. After I got my doctorate in 2013 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, I was a faculty member at the University of Memphis for a year, teaching courses in human development and life-span imaginative play. I then went to the Pacific Northwest and I have been a faculty member at the University of Washington Tacoma since 2014 in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. I teach courses in human development and life-span imaginative play.
